Real-Time Messaging with JMS and WebSocket
In this Buzzworkd workshop you will learn the a few details about the Java Messaging API (JMS) and how to build JMS application, by using Spring Roo. The workshop has a practical part, where attendees can build their own JMS-application, with the help of Roo and Apache ActiveMQ, as the Message Broker of choice! After a lunch break the attendees will get an introduction to the WebSocket API and Protocol. WebSocket ("TCP for the Web") allows you to bring any TCP/UDP-based protocol to the browser. The attendees will learn how to extend JMS to the browser, via WebSocket. The workshop ands with another practical part: The previous JMS/Roo application can be accessed in the browser, with the help of WebSockets.
